Abisko Autumn Aurora Hike
- Varaktighet: 3 Timmar (cirka)
- Plats: Abisko
- Produktkod: AAAH
As soon as it starts getting dark in the evenings, we are able to see the auroras up in the arctic. The Autumn is a nice period in the Abisko area. We often have nice fresh and what we call “high and clear” air. The scenery in the surroundings is often spectacular with birch trees looking like they were on fire, the vegetation on the ground all red, the mountains white of the first snow and on top of that, we have the chance to see the northern lights in the evenings.
We offer an evening hike in the area around Abisko with an experienced guide with knowledge about the area and the Arctic in common.
We start the tour from the Abisko Mountain Lodge. We walk on the old trails - some of which have been used for hundreds of years by the locals in the area. Our goal is to reach a location where we get a nice overview look over the area and the lake “Torneträsk”, which is the biggest Arctic lake in scandinavia. When we get to the location, our guide will make a fire and we will sit down around the fire and wait for the auroras. We will warm up something to drink and you will get a light snack. The tour will be around 2,5-3 hours long. We have hiking poles that you can borrow. We offer pickup from STF Mountain station. For this tour you need proper shoes, the trails can be lightly wet and slippery. You also need a good jacket. We don't offer any clothing for this tour.
Minimum age: 10 years old.
